A good time was had by all who visited the preview of this impressive exhibition at Stockport War Memorial Art Gallery
Here are some photos to tempt you to visit too!
I have been a fan of Leah’s work for some time and always enjoy seeing it on display, especially this one! Oh how I wish I had the wall space….
This is ‘Ruins 9: Cottonopolis’ and is inspired by the unused derelict mills of Manchester.
This series named ‘Gas Works’ is inspired by the abandoned gas works on Liverpool Street in Salford.
Helen’s work is inspired in some way by graffiti and these stitched photographic prints are absolutely fab I think.
I love the use of text in art work and enjoy incorporating it into my own work in different ways so it was no surprise that I like Helen’s work.
This is a close up of one of the large ‘City Blocks’ series which uses words for home in a variety of languages, see if you can find it when you visit.
And here are the very talented ladies with the Mayor of Stockport who also paid a visit.
Visit if you can, it’s on ’til end of June.
Thank you for stopping by….
